New Patterns & Yummy Recipe!

This weekend was so enjoyable!  We spent most of yesterday in the garden!  For some odd reason my marigolds were not growing well in my side gardens.  So out they went and zinnias replaced them!

After we finished, we cleaned up and headed to the local pre 4th of July celebration in our neighboring suburb!  We weren't there long as we had to pick up our girls from a birthday party & at Zero Gravity!  But we still enjoyed the sights & smells of the fair!

I've also recived some new pattern covers!  Here are a couple new patterns that will soon be ready!

I'm also looking for some fun recipes for a bridal shower I'm hosting!  I came across this one and thought I'd share it with you!  Enjoy!

Summerthyme Blog Hop Wraps Up! My day!

Welcome to the final day of our wonderful Summerthyme Blog Hop!
First off, I would like to thank each of the other designers for joining in and taking time out of their busy schedules to create a free design for you, work through the kinks (as we always seem to have something come up) - especially when it comes to formatting the artwork.... and share a family favorite recipe with you!
Without you designers...
there would be no hop!

I would also like to thank each of YOU readers for stopping by!  I know many of you waited with anticipation for each new day of the hop!  I am so glad you all have been enjoying it... and also enjoying getting to know each of us designers a bit more!
Please, please, make sure and give them thanks and/or follow our blogs!  We really do appreciate your support and really need to know if this is something worth doing for you!  Without hearing from you or liking our blogs... we really have no clue!  And - a lot of work really does go into this (even though we make it look easy!!! LOL!).  So please share and help spread the word about our fantastic blog hop!
We LOVE sharing & creating for you all!!!

Up today is me, Miss Buttermilk Basin!
I, too, have been waiting patiently to share my day/project with each of you!  Each of the past 9 days felt like a mini party here in blogland!  We  enjoyed numerous mediums of handwork, shared some delicious recipes and we also learned who has a green thumb and does not!!! {LOL!}... and most importantly, we have had fun & got inspired!
So...let's continue celebrating with my scrumptious "No Bake" Banana Split Dessert Recipe & my darling Americana wool pillow tuck I created just for you!  It will be perfect to stitch up while enjoying some porch sitting
{of course, with a nice mason jar full of Sheri's FAV summer beverage!}  I hope you enjoy my day & project... Have a wonderful summer filled with lots of memories!

PS:  Don't forget to follow me on Instagram (I post there a LOT!), Facebook, (I post daily & give away goods weekly each "LUCKY" Friday!) and on my website (always posting new designs & the FREE "Mystery" BOM!)...

My Complimentary Pattern:

Please click the link to print off the pattern! Enjoy!

Here are my thoughts on summer!
Favorite Summer Memory:
Toss up between attending the Roseau County Fair (exhibiting in 4-H) & sitting on the porch with my Great Grandma Lily watching the vehicles go by.  We would take turns pretending to get one of the cars that drove by!  We sure would get some good laughs about some of "our" cars!!!  It was awesome, too, seeing the "big" fair trucks with the rides coming to town!
Pretty big thing for a small town!
On the 4th of July we:
Start the day off with a parade... and end with fireworks in our front yard with the neighbors!
(I love the snakes that grow & smoke!!! LOL!)
Green Thumb or Not?
Yes!  Not half as good as my mother & grandmas though!  I am not as patient as they are.  But I am working on enjoying the growth process!  I just redid my memory garden in honor of my mother... Here is the start of it!

Favorite Fair Food:
Tie: Cheese Curds & Crepes!
Favorite Summer Drink & Farmer’s Market Find:
Raspberry Lemonade & rhubarb at the Farmer's Market!  Love me some rhubarb!
Summer Designs You are Working on:
NONE!  I am skipping summer and going right to the Autumn in the Country Barn Event & the Caribbean Cruise projects for the February!!
Favorite Quote:

NOTE:  Use 1/2 cup of butter & 1/4 cup of sugar.
We also used 4 bananas and graham cracker crumbs on the top instead of walnuts!

Welcome to day 9 of the Summerthyme Blog Hop!

Wow!  Is this hop going fast!  Today I am switching up and having Sheri from Calico Moon share her blog day with you and I will be wrapping up the hop tomorrow with my design~!
I hope you have been enjoying it and showing your support by liking our blogs!  We really do appreciate your support as we give you each super fun complimentary designs!

In case you missed Gail, from Gail Pan Designs project... here it is!  Isn't it cute!?  This is a great pillow that you can keep out all year long!  How perfect!!!  She also has a great recipe for dipped berries on her page as well for you to enjoy!
Up next is Sheri from Calico Moon!  I have already seen her project and it is perfect for the 4th!  She has two versions!  So fun!

Here are Sheri's thoughts on summer!

On the 4 th of July we:
Hang at home, Dan fires up the grill and we can see fireworks right from our yard!  Our dogs are not real found of the noise and fireworks, last year we had 4 fun-filled evenings of fireworks in the neighborhood!

Green thumb or no?
I definitely have a green thumb!  Just harvested about 4 large baskets of lavender which I dry and use in my closets and drawers.  My lamb's ear creeps out of allthe beds into the yard, I just clip the grass around it and let it spread!!  I have to watch when my husband cuts the grass cause he will run over it.  He calls it a weed! I would love a yard with no grass and all plants and flowers.  We planted tomatoes, peppers and zucchini this year down our new fence, and I have volunteer pumpkins coming up from my compost pile! Cannot wait to see what grows!!

My favorite summer drink:
My recipe and my favorite farmers stand buy is SWEET CORN!!!

Favorite fair food:
Corndogs with mustard

Summer designs you are working on:
Just got back from 2 weeks at the beach, so I have a couple of drawings, but since I got back we have been busy at the shop!

Favorite Quote:
Use it up, wear it out, make it do, or do without.

Please click the link(s) and head over to her pages for the recipe & projects!  Enjoy!

Happy Monday! More blog hop fun from Meg & Gail!

Happy Monday!  How cute were the designs from the hop over the weekend from Lori & Meg from Crabapple Hill!  I have fond memories of riding my little trike as a little girl!  I think I might even have some pictures of my girls riding their trikes when they were little waving the flags on the 4th!  Very sweet design!  I have also seen a few cross stitch pieces already made up from Lori of Notforgotten Farm.  I do not cross stitch - but I am loving that little key fob!!!!
This weekend we also took in the Back to the 50's Car Show at the MN State Fairground.  I had never been to that so we decided to take the girls and head down to check it out & see all the cars!  Let me tell you - we did not even make a dent at looking at all the cars!  It was amazing and soooo much to take in.  If you are a car lover and ever get the opportunity - you really should plan to come and spend the weekend at the show!  Plus... they open up many of the state fair food stands!  It was such a gorgeous day out too!  Here are a few picks of the old, vintage & rusty trucks that caught my eye!  These were few and far between but their patina was amazing!

Up next is Gail from Gail Pan Designs.  Here are a few tidbits about summer/gardening from her!  Sounds like she has a keeper (her hubby) who does all the gardening!  Lucky girl!!!!

Favorite Summer Memory:
Playing under the sprinkler on a really hot day!!
Green Thumb or Not?
Not.....hubby does the gardening.. I'll pick flowers though!!
Favorite Fair Food:
Fairy Floss (cotton candy in the US)
Favorite Summer Drink & Farmer’s Market Find:
Homemade lemonade....and hot jam donuts!!
Summer Designs You are Working on:
Trying to do a new BOM for the seasons!!

Blog Hopping, Planting & Missing my Momma!

Welcome back for another day of our Summerthyme Blog Hop!
Yesterday's project was so sweet!  Lori from Notforgotten Farm designed a scissor key fob!  How perfect for you handwork gals who love to do cross stitch!  If you haven't got back into cross stitch... this would be a great project to start with!  It is very doable!

Switching gears...Yesterday was the 1st anniversary of my mother's passing.... and today we celebrated the life of my neighbor, Jeff.  I can't believe how different life is without mom.  I'm still very emotional and still miss her dearly!  Our neighborhood is also different without Jeff!  He was such a funny & kind hearted guy!  So hard loosing such amazing people in our lives... trying to find comfort in knowing that they are both in peace & pain free...

Today I finally took time to plant my flowers in pots to place in my vintage piece that was given to me by an awesome customer, April!  I love it and still am amazed she had no use for it!  I'm happy to put it to good use!  I can't wait to see the flowers grow & fill in!  Don't you just love it?!!!!

Before I send you on your way to Meg's website, I will share Kathy's & Meg's recipes with you!  I know many of you are printing off the recipes to add to your collection~so here are their's to enjoy!  They are both keepers!!!

Saturday Blog Hopping!!!!

Happy Saturday!
I hope you're looking for a new project to start on because this hop has some quick and easy designs that can be made in an afternoon this weekend!  If you're going to the lake... Just print off the patterns, grab your supplies and stitch away!  The gals really have designed some fabulous projects this round!!!

Wasn't Kathy's project great!  A strawberry needle case! It's be fun having some summer inspired projects in this hop!  Typically, we tend to go design more for fall & winter so this hop has been so refreshing!  I hope you're enjoying it!

I'm also excited to enjoy today's day with designer Lori, from Notforgotten Farm!  I know she's an avid handwork gal so I know it's going to be a fun one!  I am hoping she shares some pics of her gardens!  She has numerous gardens and has a husband who loves to get out and work with her in them!  I'm excited!!! Here's Lori's thoughts on summer!

Favorite Summer Memory:
Playing on the shoreline in Connecticut, walking in the sand & collecting seashells…oh how I miss that! but I still have my shell collections ~

Usually shoot off a couple of fireworks, fire up the grill and make our favorite foods ~ My Mom famous Cole Slaw is a staple for our Summertime dining, and I'm sharing that recipe with you below :)

Green Thumb or Not?
Yes, green thumb {thankfully} Peter & I both love to work in our veggie/flower/herb gardens ~ we actually just put in a kitchen garden right out our back door so we have easy access to our fresh home-grown goodness ~

Favorite Fair Food:
Funnel Cakes & Candy Apples…oh & Kettle Corn too!

Favorite Summer Drink & Farmer’s Market Find:
We make freshly sun-brewed Iced Tea with fresh mint from our garden ~ nothing says Summer more than that to us….we have a few local Farmers Markets nearby where we can purchase local honey ~ to sweeten our iced tea of course :)

Summer Designs You are Working on:
In the Summer, I work on Autumn/Winter designs, so at the moment I am in-between projects…

Favorite Quote:
My Favorite Quote is actually an Old English rhyme, and it goes:
 What do you suppose?
a bees sat on my nose.
Then what do you think?
she gave me a wink…
and said "I beg your pardon,
I thought You were the Garden!"
